Spoornet back to business after Deelfontein Train Accident
Spoornet today announced that the main line between De Aar and Beaufort West was re-opened following yesterday's collision between a Shosholoza Meyl passenger train and The Blue Train.
Two of the injured are still in hospital where their condition is described as being stable and the remainder of the passengers were conveyed to their end destinations last night.
Spoornet will provide counselling to all passengers involved in this incident. The affected passengers are urged to contact Spoornet on this Toll Free number: 0800 00 6564.
An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the incident.
Spoornet would like to apologise to the passengers for the inconvenience caused during the incident and at the same time thank them for their patience and understanding during that difficult time.
